Write to live better: organize your thoughts and free your emotions

On Thursday evening broadcasts, I often remind my listeners of the importance of writing. We can engage in stories, poems, novels, letters, emails, or keep a diary. There is no one way that is better than another!

To do it well, we need to be consistent and read a lot, but even if we are not passionate about reading, we can still stain our fingers with ink or type on the keyboard.

Why?

Writing helps us organize our thoughts and consider them from different perspectives. It is an actual thought organizer. When we have to make a decision, reasoning in front of a piece of paper can be just as important as thinking.

Moreover, it allows us to reflect on our emotions, explore them, and understand them. It helps us overcome negative feelings, free ourselves from them, and move forward. We can feel less burdened, freer, and happier.

If we feel anxious or stressed, writing down what is causing pain can significantly help. It is like applying a balm to a wound: thanks to writing, it will heal more quickly and effectively.

An extremely positive aspect is that there are no contraindications or reasons not to write. It will never harm us, and we can do it anytime: just waking up, standing in line at the post office, or in the evening before going to sleep. Today, many of us live with a smartphone always at hand. Why not use it now and then to write our diary as well?

How much time should we dedicate? Even several hours a day, but my advice is not to end the day without spending at least fifteen minutes with a pen in hand.

What do we feel when we create art?

Creating art is a unique experience that makes us feel many different emotions. On the one hand, we experience an intimate and personal moment in which we feel completely immersed in our creative world. On the other hand, we feel driven to share and try to communicate something meaningful to others.

When I create art, I feel a mixture of emotions: love, passion, desire, despair... but above all, wonder. The same wonder I felt as a child when I encountered something I never expected.

Art can be unpredictable and surprising. We feel a sense of wonder and satisfaction when we generate something that exceeds our expectations.

40 minutes of happiness 🧡🏃

Yesterday I ran my fifth cross-country race, and it was forty minutes of pure happiness. Even in the moments of greatest suffering, I felt great. I was experiencing physical pain, but I was still pumped and kept thinking about how much I enjoyed the experience.

In my life, I have practiced various sports, such as basketball as a teenager, swimming, Thursday night soccer with friends, and skiing. I have also walked a lot and gone on many hikes. However, I have never been as involved as I am in running.

I love running, especially in company, and I love races. I can feel all the beauty of movement, the body breathing, and the mind being free.

I like to share the sport I love with other people. It's fun, exciting, and there is an emotion that unites most runners. I live competition with great serenity. When an athlete passes me, I think about how good they are; when I pass someone else, I do it with lightness.

Experiences like yesterday's are very precious. Recently, I have participated in various running events in less-than-optimal conditions, with a cold or shortly after the flu. Yesterday, on the other hand, I was feeling good and had no worries. The temperature was fantastic, and the grass had a green that entered my soul.

At the end of the cross, I was tired but full of energy and couldn't wait to dive into the next trail in a couple of weeks.
